President highlights the impact of South African investment on key sectors of the economy.

President João Lourenço stated that South African investment in Angola has expanded significantly, especially with the arrival of South African companies in the Angolan market. During the opening of official negotiations between Angola and South Africa in Pretoria, Lourenço highlighted the importance of this investment, emphasizing that companies from the neighboring country have added value to key sectors of the Angolan economy, such as energy, health, infrastructure and mining.

The Angolan president also emphasized the importance of regular bilateral meetings to monitor the progress of the agreements signed, especially those signed in Luanda, which aim to strengthen economic and political cooperation between the two countries. In addition, Lourenço announced the holding of a tripartite summit in Luanda on December 15, which could result in a definitive agreement for the resolution of the conflict between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.

The president mentioned that Angola will assume the presidency of the African Union next year and that he hopes to count on the support of South Africa to implement his program, seeking to further strengthen continental and international ties.

Recently, the two countries signed five bilateral cooperation agreements, and more than 200 businesspeople from both Angola and South Africa met at the Angola/South Africa Business Forum to explore new business opportunities. This event was part of an ongoing effort to increase trade and investment between the two economies, with a focus on strategic sectors such as agribusiness, energy, and oil.
